Why don't you buy games on GOG if you are worried about not "owning" something.
Please you show us these 10k words. I'm sure it's a fascinating read.
Please dont. If Steam lets you download game installers then those games would also be owned by the customer but really, with any media, we always only ever buy a license, with digital its just worse because it can get taken away if its online. You need permissions to show movies and shows publicly and i think similar would go for games.

For once I'm of the same opinion as SarahGabriella

Once the game is done I will but...
I'm starting to believe that Bloodlines 2 releases on the same day as Half Life 3, Winds of Winter, Elder Scrolls VI and the new Blade movie.

I think the probability of Half Life 3 gets released is higher than that you consulted a private lawyer about a pre-order game and already written 10k words on a steam review for a game you don't even think is gonna come out..

So... Small Update:
I have currently a ticket open regarding Steams newest changes to their rules regarding 'season passes' as Blood Moon Edition has one build in for all the goodies and DLCs promissed.

Changes one can find here:

Good for you! I'm sure Gaben himself will stop what he's doing to check what you're complaining about.

I admittedly didn't realise Paradox were really that involved with the product - I thought Hardsuit Labs had made the pitch for Bloodlines 2 and when it was deemed to not be 'up to snuff', they decided to go with the Chinese Room
The publisher is often somewhat involved. Some publisher more than others. Famously, Spec Ops: The Line was almost ruined by its publisher who wanted to turn it into another CoD even tho the game satirizes games like that. I think Paradox is usually quite alright tho.

Sell World of Darkness to Larian they could make a sweet Divinity clone and license out a 1st/3rd person game to someone else.
I dont think that is what they meaned ...

They are going to keep the IP nicely on a shelf, where quite litterally noone can touch it without their permition ... and will charge for that touch.
That is how IP owning works.
And let me remind you that when EA payed for a decade exclusivity to produce Star Wars games, they did that just so nobody can make any ... they didnt either ... so this thing is not even allways logical.

In other words, it would be quite realistic to expect World of Darkness die out, and be replaced by something like Vampyr.

Paradox should sell the license. They haven't done anything good with it and it's likely going to have been something of an albatross for them.

Sell it to someone who actually wants it for the the love of the material and not as an opportunity to make a quick buck.
