Germany. So I bought some TACs from Hungary the other month and they wont seem to upgrade. I cant really find a use for some pathetic level 1 TACs, and its very irritating that they wont upgrade. I am using DDARMA 1.2.

They should be upgrading you just can't see the progress. In the 1.2 patch the Statistics page is broken and doesn't show the upgrade progress of units, only brigades, hopefully this is your problem.germanpeon said:

Darn. I wasnt using the ledger to monitor upgrades. I was going by the fact that I had the tech for level four TACs, but the production screen said I didnt need to allocate any IC to upgrades. :wacko:

Are they fling missions? They have to be at an in supply air base at 0:00 to upgrade, if not they won't show up as needing upgraded.

Heres a thought: if I save, exit, and load the save, maybe the game wont register them as bought. I shall try it later.
germanpeon- If you have tried all those suggestions and it still does not recognize those TAC1's to upgrade, I have some info. I sometimes play solo and jump between countries around the globe and distribute troops and equipment (such as TAC's) to more needy nations. I found that many nations will not recognize the new troops or equipment as upgradable and some nations it works fine. I found an exploit by first sending the items to a nation that will disappear soon in the game (Austria 1938, Albania 1939, etc.) and after that nation is no more, there are never any problems upgrading the equipment that was constructed in another nation.
I have yet to find the programing that allows some while not others, so this might or might not help you. Anyway good luck.

I just assumed that the problem still occurs, so I never buy air units, only ground because you can SR them to get them to upgrade. Otherwise you have to wait for the country you bought from to be at tech level for upgrade, or edit the save file to remove the country tag from the purchased unit.
