The Northern Lands is a mod for Rome Vae Victis and is indented to make playing the Celtic/Germanic/Iberia/Dacia areas more fun. This mod adds new provinces and new tribes, 3 of which are formable nations. So far I've done the British Isles and after I'm done with that area. I'll slowly move out into the rest of the world doing about 6 to 12 provinces and adding one or two tribes in each version. This way I can release more often and work at my own pace.

Download Here V1.1

Here's a preview

Changes I want to do for the next version

- Maybe add one or two more tribes
- Organizing the localisation folder better
- Adding a new culture group for the British Isles

And here's a link to my old mod that I never finished. Due to me trying to do too much at once. Here The rest of the barbarian lands will look mostly like it did in The Known World .

@Powerslave - Right now I don't plan on populating all provinces with tribes. I'd like some empty provinces, but I might add 1 or 2 more.

@Borne2Runv - maybe :p

@RedRooster81 - I was planning to have 3 formable kingdoms, One called Caledonia for Scotland area. One called Albion for the england/wales areas and
another called Hibernia for the Ireland area. Also wanted to make another for the whole area (England/Wales/Scotland/Ireland) but I'm not sure what to call it.

Anyway I redid the regions and now it looks like this

England/Wales area - Southern Albion, Central Albion, Western Albion, Northern Albion.

Scotland area - Southern Caledonia, Northern Caledonia.

Ireland area - Southern Hibernia, Northern Hibernia.

I'm not sure about the names pf the regions but all I got right now.

Also changed the trade goods around and here's a preview of that . Still want to change some things around.

Another preview this is how the kingdoms of Caledonia, Albion and Hibernia are gonna look. Not much left to do now,
The new nations flags are just gonna be there country color for now. I'll get to work on real flags for them in the next version.

Well I'm ready to release the first version. I decided to keep going and not just do the British isles. So now renaming the mod to The Northern Lands. When i finish it and if decide to keep going further into Rome and etc. I'll reuse my old mods name The Known World:D. The download is in first post and I was wondering how I could change the name of this thread to The Northern Lands? or will I have to make a new thread? I'm not really good with forums

This looks definitely great! I started british isles mod but lost it when my other comp stopped working. However, I still have the blank map where I managed to fit ~500 provinces so if you are ever going to make the Isles larger, as the map is pretty small now, just ask and I'll send the map if you find some use for it :)

I was thinking of doing a dark ages England mod but it would be awhile off from now but yea it would be great to use it when i get to making that mod.

Here's another preview. I finished the flags for the next version but some are pretty generic imo. I still want to edit them.

Edit - Also I was gonna use Britons or maybe Briton Celtic as the culture group for both Isles any thoughts on that? and should i contact a mod to change the name of the thread or should i make a new one?, As I'm now calling this mod The Northern Lands

I think that you'll be contacted by mod if you make another thread for same thing, happened to me in AARland, so I suggest PMing some of the mods.

I think that there should be more cultures because the problem in vanilla rome is that tribes don't fight each other more than one time in the beginning and their relations are really high. So if there was more cultures (Highlander, Lowlander, Anglic, Southern and Northern Irish etc.) the countries might be more aggressive against each other

ah ok I'll pm a mod then thank you and yea I was thinking of adding at least 3 more cultures for the isles.

I'm gonna release V1.1 right now. Only changes in V1.1 is me messing around with the positions.txt file and I added all of the flags for the new tribes. Download in first post

V1.2 will have few new culture for the Isles and bug fixes/touching things up. After V1.2 I should be able to start work on northern Gaul
