When I used 1 Q and right clicked in the direction of the first red robed mage during the tutorial the game instantly locked up and I could only move the mouse, then black screen.

I couldn't recreate the issue and there wasn't a crash log within the appdata location. I'm using nvidia driver 352.86 on a GTX 970. Might have been an issue with fullscreen and another application conflict. Since changing to borderless I can refocus the game and have it reinitialize more efficiently without having the blackscreen.
