Playing as germany, I sent the luftwaffe over to help my ally Japan against Nationalist China. I assumed military control of the japanese army and severly mauled the chinese to the point that the china annexation - save and reload event fired. After I reloaded, my entire airforce was gone! Not back in Germany, not in transit, just vanished! And after they had spent a year gaining precious experience bombing the heck out of the chinese peasant army! At least my leaders survived (they went back into the air leader pool). Is this a bug or what?!

If you reload as japan you will find your planes. By the way this could also happen with ships
