Bug during install

Hi, i am trying to install EU2 vf ( i am french) and at a moment during the installation, there is an error message , something like (translated from frenhc to english) "data error" about a file, in the "map" folder
help please.
A friends installed it on his computer yesterday, so i odnt think the problem comes from the cd.
I have windows XP professionnal edition

delete the EU2 directory and re-install the game.
