When a system is so confusing that veteran players with thousands of hours of gameplay don't get it, you got something very wrong! and it needs to be fixed.

You do realize that the system was just changed, so I doubt we'd have any veterans here with "thousands of hours of gameplay" accumulated since the 4.0 release.
Not to mention veterans need to unlearn the old system, so technically new players would have easier time to understanding the new system. I played single game with the new system, and understand how it works now compared to previous one.

I think I understand this system. I was not stunned by new pop growth. It can be Dunning-Kruger effect
