CTD ~ When trying to Create Louisiana

All the provinces are owned, but some as only trading posts. The option appears in the "create vassals" screen. When the option to create Louisiana is clicked there is a CTD every time.

I was able to release LOU while playing as FRA in the AoR scenario just fine, no crash.

Can you describe your situation more exactly? What scenario? Any mods involved?

I am also playing as FRA but in the Grand Campaign. I have created Mexico and the USA and want to get rid of the majority of my overseas assests before launching into the Revolution and the Napoleonic Wars, the reason being that they would revolt and declare independence anyway during this period of instability.

I am using version 1.08. All but one province only has a trade centre (level one), the remainder having 850 pop colony. I could zip and post the save game if it would make it easier? There have been no other problems with creating vassals to date.

Thank you in advance.

Yep. If the defined capital of the vassal in revolt.txt is a TP and you release it as a vassal you get the CTD. Promote the TP to a city by editing the save, or move the capital in revolt.txt to a province which is a city, and it's fine.

Thanks, I'll pass this on to Paradox.

But how can it be, that a revolting Quebec and Brasil (IIRC) just consist of a TP?

The problem only occurs when releasing a vassal, not when a revolter goes independent.

It also occurs when a revolter goes independent, though...

I have released a nation only consisting of a TP before... though it was as part of an event I made, maybe that does a difference?

Or maybe this crash doesn't happen *every* time, but is merely prone to happen?

Did you do it under a recent patch? I think it should always happen now...
