BUG : No catholics in Switzerland

No catholics in Switzerland

There is an event for Switzerland where catholics gain +7 militancy. I got really scared when this popped up until I realised that there are no catholics in the entire country. I know that there are catholics living there since a long time ago so maybe one of the history buffs could determine how many catholics need to be added.

Actually, I just reported it but didn't make suggestions of how to fix it. Feel free to make suggestion!

I think it could be solved by making some catholic Swiz, but I don't know how big a percentage they were or where they resided. Other solution might be to just raise militancy of all pops, or perhaps liberals/conservatives/farmers etc. I have no knowledge whatsoever on Swiz history, so I don't know how to get it right.
 
Its obvious there were no Swiss beta's. I started the 1914 scn as Switzerland and I had no army, no manpower (converted 1 labourer later), no canned food and in addition I couldnt build any fortifications despite the fact that I had all resources and money needed. Its a bit annoying when it reads: " You lack the following resources: "
I thought that maybe it was soldier pop that must build forts, but no, that didnt work either.

A second problem was that despite cranking up the defence spendings I didnt get any leader points whatsoever. Always read 0,0

No big deal I guess, but it made Switzerland unplayable anyway, because when the WW1 was over I still hadnt been allowed to buy any canned food (realistic though) and my factory for it wasnt ready. Awfully early ending to the war though, and a war that saw Belgium as the big winner :eek: grabbing some 3-4 provinces from Germany. :D

Otherwise the game is of course great. :)

Did you have any officer POPs? They are needed to gain leadership points.
 
Oi Rollo... Know that we will try to fix the Swiss 'unplayability'... Since you are Swiss, care to explain what needs changing? And approximate % of religions in Switzerland and languages/culturers?

Ach Vulture I'm not Swiss, only by far and long. Swiss mercenaries you know. :)

I could try to dig it up though, but I think there are a few real Swiss chaps around here that would qualify better. Besides, religion isnt my cup of tea really, I was merely pointing out the hardship in playing Switzerland during the WW1, no army, no canned food and I couldnt even build forts (a Swiss hallmark).

I'll check what I can though. :)

I'm swiss, here some % of which should be correct at least:

In 1835, between 60-70% should be Reformed, 30-40% catholic

In 1861, a little more Reformed perhaps, because of the Sonderbundkrieg.

In 1914, there should also be Atheist if that is possible...religions weren't that matter in the time in Switzerland...

There should also be 1-2% jews(First tries to make a jewish state were in Basel)

For the provinces, it should be so:(a little more "easier" for you, not 100% accurate)

Zürich, Bern, Genf, Basel: Full Reformed
Neuchatel/Neuenburg, Wallis, Chur: Half/Half
Luzern, Bellinzona(Tessin): Full catholic(you did good events for the sonderbund and uprising in Tessin, I couldn't resist to look at the swiss event files first after I installed the game ;) )
