Retreated units capture province instead of retreating

So I invaded poland in March of 1936 just for fun. Found that I was losing and decided to retreat. I click on my unit, then right clicked on the province it invaded from. However, the Polish units went to the province I right clicked on and my German units captures the province and I get a message stating that the Polish province has been captured. Please Help. Maybe I am reading wrong but it happened three times on three separate engagements.

Ok I tried the scenario again but this time everybody retreated properly. I was sure something weird happened the first time but I can't reproduce it. Oh well back to playing...

I have noticed this from time to time as well. Units "stay" in a province under white flag and are impossible to do away with. Then if you move away from the provthey may get back and capture the province.

This is happening to be about half the time. Try to retreat because I'm sorely losing, and end up capturing the province instead. Poland was starting to look like quite a mess...

this is a known issue and probably soon fixed.

I have had similar issues when the AI retreats... sometimes it stops and miraculously recaptures the province even though my troops are still there.

This has happened to me as well. One division defends a mountain province and enemy units retreat to that province. When the enemy units reach it they capture it stops fleeing. Now my unit ist stacked with the enemy units without combat taking place. This has happened twice on separate occations.
When I leave the province and return again combat ensues normally and i can retake the province.

I use patch 1.01
Operating system is win 2000 sp2 with directx 8.1
hardware; intel 2GHz, 512 Mb RAM, GeForce Ti4400
