Because the British didn't build Shermans. They built their own tanks like the cromwell and challanger, valentine etc. With little exception all British operated Shermans were made in America, some were of course modified into the firefly configeration.

No it won't. The name of a unit in HoI does not, and I repeat does not represent that unit in life. A "Sherman" tank in the game does not represent a Sherman in real life. The game name merely represents an aporximation of the technology that would have been used and represented at the time. Therefor it can be said that a improved medium tank is called "Sherman, Cromwell, X, Y and Z" in game, but this does not take into account indiviudal units from each country.

Yeap, but then the British will not use Shermans? Also will be more acurate for the combat stats (of the imp medium tank at less)

No there can't be more accurate stats, German Panzers at the start of the war were total [B/] CRAP . It can't really be factored in that the Germans used these crap tanks in a totally new way, it would throw the games balance off.

Sherman

I mean in division levels too. Matildas II and Crusaders III was superior in individual statics, but at division level a Pz division was more efective than a british div. But I still thinking that the british should have Shermans, they use it a lot, and most of they late war divisions have shermans as main tanks. BTW, why the BT-7 appears as medium tank?
