Started as Deryk of Saltcliffe in The Feast for Crows scenario. Then one day when I decided to look at my dynasty view, it caught me as odd. Every member save one was lined in a single verticle row. There weren't any horizontal lines and lines connecting them to denote relation and the odd thing was the "founder" of the dynasty was one of my bastards who at that point was only a year old(when I first checked the tree).

I then checked a few of the other dynasties and their tree looked normal. Theirs wasn't an odd single verticle row, there were verticle and horizontal rows and lines connecting each of them to denote their relation, and their "founder" wasn't someone who was still alive like mine. Does anyone know whether this is a bug or not, and possibly how to fix it?

The bastard's broken the tree. To fix it, you'll have to go through the characters and see how they connect. Edit their parental history and/or dynasty number in the save file.

The bastard thing is basically when a member of a new House Ab (cadet of A) has children, yet they're bastards, then he gets made legit, his children get made members of House A yet the father remains House Ab. At the start the bastard in question will be of House A or no house at all.

So in order to avoid it, I can't have a bastard with children legitimized or if I do he still remains in the cadet house but his children will be of my destiny and then that's when the tree breaks?

Something like that. There's an issue though with plots where when a person is named a bastard via plot, it doesn't remove their dynasty yet removes their father so that breaks the tree as well. This issue has been rectified for the next update. Until then the best you can do is patch the family up in the save file as I said. The one who's to blame is pretty much always the guy who's left in the family tree (so not floating aimless at the side). So Donnir Pyke is probably the one that broke it. Try getting rid of his dynasty number in the save, so he's lowborn or doing a parent check as I noted above.

After a while of playing I checked the dynasty tree again without editing the save/trying to fix it and somehow the tree became normal again. I did have a lot of bastards afterwards to see if it'd break, one legitimized and the rest not. But the tree didn't break again.
