Not sure this is the right place, but I've downloaded the 1914 mod, and installed it as per instructions. When I play any of the games though (with the exception of one or two of the battle scenarios) it loads, and then gives me the message:

Can someone help me?

Do you have latest patch?

I suspect that you should upgrade your version. Details here

rushed through the years ...

Hello,

I used
DD 13.a; 1914 0.43; 1914_50.1.rar (Tegetthoff), goro_0.1.rar and I played 1897 as Austria-Hungary.

I rushed through the years just to test the new austriahungary.csv (i think ok, but need some fine tuning) and teams_u11.csv (troubles).

I attacked the Ottoman Empire and got support by my German Friends....

Later I attacked Russian from new airbases Trebizond and Erzurum in Turkey.
My pilots attacked every enemy in the 5 provinces of Georgia, Kaukasus.
When they were finished with the russians in Georgia my brave pilots attacked the 4 provinces of Georgia, Southeast US.
They crossed the atlantic ocean...

Game crashes

I've installed the 1914 mod on HoIII with armageddon. I've installed the armageddon patch as well.

Whenever I try to begin a game it crashes when it's trying to load scenarios.

Mexidus: I think I may just have had the same problem. Make sure that you first update your new doomsday folder that you create with the cd repair function, with the armageddon expansion and the latest full paradox patch for it (NOT the 1.3 beta, as far as I know) BEFORE you rename it to 1914 and do the 1914 installation stuff. I neglected to do that initially.

Perhaps a warning about this could be added to the setup instructions?

I also after extracting 1914 music files the 1914 folder, had to copy and paste the files from the 1914-music folder into the normal music folder in order to have the new music. fyi

To the mod creators: This is my first time playing the mod and it looks extremely interesting. Well done!

Finland Follies

As Russia in the 1897 campaign, I've adopted a policy of strict Russification for Finland and annexed the territory. A couple of times the event window has indicated that the area would get a +25 hit to partisans (angry Finns), but I've noticed no change in the partisan level. I have the feeling that this has already been covered somewhere in this thread, but can't seem to find the post if it exists.

Please help!

I have pretty weird problem with Arma 1.3b + your mod with the arma comp pack. Every time I save the game all the generals for armies which aren't in the command right now just disappear. It happens for every nation. Even the AI nations lose their commanders. Though, I don't know about other scenarios than the first one which starts in 1897 if I remember correct.

Did you really launch mod with Arma 1.3beta? Nobody before did it:confused:

Yup, I'm playing with Arma 1.3 beta. Doomsday Armageddon v1.3 beta JAN 15 2009 DVJN is stated in the upper right corner of the install to where I made the install of this. Did I do something paranormal? :)

edit. Just suggestion:
What do you guys think about asking EWWII/WIF mods developers if you could use the combat system they are using? At least battles are way too quick now. Although those WIF battles should be modified a bit as without any airsupport it's almost impossible to do anything..

I think I must have had a bad install, I assume Germany was supposed to have government ministers.

Dunno if this is a bug or not, but before I sent out my navy to patrol the English Channel, which was VERY helpful, it slaughtered British transports which really helped. However for some reason they docked, it still said Naval Interdiction as their mission etc but they wont. If I simply tell them to Move they will, but I want Naval Interdiction/Patrol. Do I just wait or what, it's been 2 months...

1 (or 2) more things. I got the event for Sweden and the Ottomans, I offered Finland and Aland to Sweden if they'd join etc and well that was 2 months ago and nothing has happened. I accepted the idea as the Ottomans for an ally but nothing. It's still only September, maybe they need time to think, is this true?

Sorry for constantly asking questions but I just cant help it. :D

In the 1897 scenario I'm playing as AH, but I noticed they have no ministers and virtually no commanders. Will this change as time progresses or is it just stuck like this because this is a beta and 1897 is one of the least developed scenarios?

Most nations lack Leaders and TT's in the 1897 Scenario. You get alot as you get nearer to 1914.

Alright, playing version 0.43 DD as the United States, 1897 scenario. A few things I've noticed.

- Roosevelt does not leave office when Taft is elected.
- Even into 1916, Victoria was the Queen according to New Zealand
- Russo-Japanese war even never dies. This was a problem in my game because Russia never took Port Arthur or Manchuria, so when Japan joined the Axis and the war started, they immediately sued for peace and the Great War stopped (I reloaded as Germany and kicked Japan from the Axis to stop this).
- Accidental Discovery event fires far too often. I received this event at least once a year, sometimes twice.
- Radiography, though unlocked, cannot be researched?
- BB7 Monitor Tech. Is there a purpose for it? It's a mid-game tech, but the ships seem useless. Is it something more for smaller powers?
- If Serbia folds the war is avoided! Maybe it makes sense, but it's so anticlimactic.
- Anglo-French war over the Sudan needs some sort of end event, since neither will ever successfully invade Britain or France, and the war tends to drag into a stalemate in Africa.
- Despite the Suez being devoid of British troops, the Ottoman AI refused to advance and occupy the canal, even though it had 15 divisions next to the British Sinai, while the Russians invade Turkey.
- Though the Germans have a 50-12 divisional advantage, they refuse to attack French troops. (I no-fogged to view this).
- French West African manpower event fires, despite not controlling West Africa any longer.
- German AI, in general, not prepared for war in the West. Troops were bundled on the tiny French border, and were caught off guard when Germany DOW'd Belgium.

All that said, I was quite impressed with the Ottoman AI, which in late 1916 had reversed it's earlier misfortunes, pushed the Russians out of Turkey, and were actually advancing into the Ukraine.

I was also impressed with the early war British AI, which saved the Russians in Finland by launching an amphibious assault against Stockholm. (They were later encircled and destroyed, but it gave the Russians time to move their forces into Finland).

Italian AI also did a great job of advancing against the Austro-Hungarians, although I don't know whether to attribute this as a positive to the Italians or a negative to the AHs.

Overall though, good fun :)

I'm not quite sure if this has been answered yet, but I couldnt find anything about it...

I've been playing 1914 for a while now and have had this problem, but I've gotten tired of it now that I've registered to try and find ot how to fix it

I'm playing 1914, v 0.43 on DD 1.3a and for some reason i cant give any of my air units any commands besides "rebase"...

when i sent my air units to my allies as expeditionary forces they dont seem to have any problems using them to perform bombings and whatnot

It happens even though I have all the proper air technologies researched, on the 1914 scenario... I hope someone can help me it's been bugging me for a long time

Perhaps a stupid question, but are you sure the units in question are able to attack? Early air units are for recon only IIRC, so the unit would need to be able to attack in some form for it to have any other mission than rebase.

Yea I thought of that, but there are targets within range and all of the technologies for the air missions have been researched, and the air units, I am pretty sure, are capable of performing them... unless the AI for some reason is capable of performing the air missions with units which shouldnt be able to. But this is 1914 and beyond, so I dont think thats the problem...

Check that the air unit does have an attack number, though.

You should see numbers for air attack, interception, strat. bombing, tac. bombing, &c.

If they're all 0, then there's no problem.

If they're not, however, there may be a bug.

Well, I played a game as Germany 1914 just to make sure, they started the game with airships and planes with numbers already, I researched some newer planes and airships and air technologies just to be safe, they cannot perform any missions except for rebase. My allies and the Entente can both bomb and perform missions.
