Hi All,

I cannot work out whether this is an issue with my model or cities skylines is doing this.

I created a building; I followed two different tutorials on creating buildings so I am still pretty new to this, however my building looks great, so when I load my model into cities skylines asset creator to import, the windows texture I created shows a wooden floor in the glass.

This isn't an issue for the bottom floor windows, but the 2nd floor windows puts this imaginary floor a quarter way up the window, so it looks stupid

I have:
Checked texture map, nothing there to indicate a floor texture or even it been a floor imported texture.
My model has no 2nd floor inside the model.
The window is not transparent otherwise it would show the wall.
I tried re-scaling the window hoping the image would move the floor down when I import the model.

Is this something that Cities Skylines has done to put depth into the window?

Thanks

Yes, Cites creates a fake interior like that for anything that's <90% white on the specular map. You can set floot height in the asset editor. It's in the Properties window on the right, at the very bottom. You can play around with the heights and the number of floors until it looks nice.

Thank you, I will have a look, although I don't think I came across that in asset editor, as I saved my building as something to prop like Parks, etc. I may save it as a growable asset in the near future, so maybe that floor feature appears when saving as a growable. Thanks for the reply, it is useful.

If it's a building, it will have the option for floors. If you don't see the Properties window, then you have some mod installed that messes with the editor (there's a few). It's always best to disable any mods you don't absolutely need in the editors as most of them were made for the simulation and things get a little messy in the editors with them. :p

Thank you Avanya, I found the floor height, count, etc. It was under the colour variations part of the properties section; just wasn't looking there.
