hi, when i use metro XL bus it stops and blocks both lanes if the road has 2 lane on each side.

anyone else has this problem or a fix?

it stops with half the bus on the right lane at the bus stop but then drives the front of the bus in to the next lane and therefore blocking other traffic when stopping

Not sure what you mean by the "Metro XL" bus. Unless you're referring to a mod, I assume you mean the "Comet XL" articulated bus, or at least, something similar.

Without looking at a screen shot, here's what I'm betting happened:

You have a bus line that runs down a four-lane road and, at some point, turns left off of that road to continue the line. You have a bus station just before the left turn. When the bus stops at the station, it's already "planning" for the left turn, so the driver has to start the turn (or lane change) even as he's pulling into the station. So, the bus stops at the station in the middle of the lane change, thus blocking both lanes.

Solution: Move the station further away from the intersection, or even put it after the intersection/turn so that the bus turns, then stops after it's all the way out of traffic.

hello testtesttest,
This is a bug.
Take the bus stop to another point do not help
This bug concerns the bus "10 Pavlov Stretch" and bus "13 Comet XL",but nobody take care of it.

That's not a bug, unless you consider "driver forethought" a bug. That's poor station placement / line management.

In order to turn left off of a four-lane avenue, a bus has to get in the left lane. Articulated buses stop at stations such that the front section of the bus is already past the station. Consequently, articulated buses that have a sharp left turn coming up (see Screenshot 2 that you just provided) start changing lanes as soon as possible—which includes "While pulling in to the current station."

Take the station in screenshot 2, move it back a couple of tiles towards that crosswalk (or move it to the two-lane street after the left turn).

Or, if you're really fussy about efficiently-operating systems, be like UPS (that's a parcel delivery service here in the U.S., for anyone who isn't familiar with them). Design lines around right turns, because those are easier and quicker to make and don't leave you at the whim of oncoming traffic. Left turns slow you down and waste time and money.

This is a bug !

The Bus 05 Pavlov Extended do not have the problem.

That's because of where the bus stops in relation to the station. All of the buses (and trams) stop at slightly different places relative to the station. The Pavlov Extended is very "front-loaded," so it stops accordingly, while the Comet XL and, to a lesser extent, the Pavlov Stretch are more balanced, so they stop with their mid-sections even with the station.

I don't think it's a bug, I think it's just a design oversight. It seems like it would be simple enough to patch it in so that articulated buses with upcoming left-turns don't over-anticipate the turns when they pull into stations (unless those stations are right on top of the left turn, in which case they would be right to do so), so hopefully we'll see that soon.

:)

You're right. A bug would be if this bus was moving to the other lane for no reason. It has a purpose for changing lanes, it just does it before it's actually cleared its stop, which is an oversight and probably easily fixed in a patch.

:eek:o

Stop point

Do you know some way to set the stop point at the front of the station for Pavlov Stretch and Comet XL? Is there for example some parameter in the xx.script file of the bus to change and fix it? Thank you for your tips. Lukas
