Nobody has a good picture of someone whipping a dead horse in the streets in the 19th Century? I mean, I guess maybe I should hunt the Victoria III forums. But, those are rather glum at times.

Clearly they're depressed because there aren't as many people trying to restore Rome there.

I salute your dedication to restoring Rome, even in Victoria.

Is it a formable in HOI4? I mean, I know could put the Ottomans back in earlier HoI versions....why not Byzantium.
It is but its not very viable because Greece has no manpower whatsoever and by the time you can conquer turkey your either alone in a war with the entire axis because Italy invaded and Germany flooded the Balkans with the southernmost troops from barbarossa and kicks your crap in or if you join them and the British navy kill your imports crippling your industry and the bear slowly starts creeping westward toward your inevitable mauling.

Yeah, I can see that being a thing. Though, if you could pull off a win against Italy, it'd be epic restoring the first Reich right under the view of the third. Clearly, just a march of Berlin to put the Germanii back in their place as client states and you're good? I'm not even sure what the Latin word for "Panzer" would be of course, so, its probably best that its nigh-impossible to achieve.

Why couldn't you just decline it in the 2nd declension and coin it as a Latin word?

Assuming I'm remembering correctly Panzeri Romanorum IX "Constantinopolos" or something of the ilk does sound pretty great. Of course, with no manpower, its just going to get overwhelmed by all those Rifle Divisions from "Scythia", even if they are also Orthodox Christian and all in practice.

In this era? Yeah, "Greek" identity is pretty heavily tied into "Roman".

The only time you really start to see some attempt to "revise" Greek identity into something not Roman is the Victorian era, after spending almost 500 years under Ottoman rule.
