AAR Venice 1492-1515
The great adventures of the Serenìsima Repùblica Vèneta...
The session started as usual at peace... this was soon to be changed by Doge labalag I as he noticed that he had 50K troops and that the surrounding minors had none...
Soon war was declared on Modena, who dragged along their allies Genua, the war was easy as there was no real opposition to the Venetian forces, 3 provinces were gained and Modena was vassalised...
In the meantime the Spanish in a blitzkrieg assault snabbed Genua, when asked when they would give an explanation for this they said: "mañana"
We then Dowed the Pope after been given a guarantee by the Spanish that they would keep the French out of this war, the pope was easily done with, we grabbed two provinces and left the Pope in Rome,as a Venetian vassal, waiting to be annexed...
The French did not like this very much, and after our victory against the Pope they decided to move to Parma, only to withdraw after a Spanish declaration of war. The following diplomatic activity which ensued costed us in total 16 stability... (I expect 8 of those edited back or else I'm gonna sail my fleet to England...)
The war went well, with us gaining the rights on the Italian parts of Savoie-Piemonte and the Spanish getting some 400 ducats...
The rest of the session proceeded quietly (in the meanwhile annexed Modena, and redowed the Pope since he cancelled his vasalage)...
At the end of the session diplomatic upheaval ensued over the Ottoman annexation of the Mamluks and the resulting loss of Venetian revenue. We immedeatly claimed Alexandria, but the Sultan refused and sent us 60 galleys instead. (Which we appreciated...)
To do for the next session: * Make a meaningfull alliance with at least one great military power...
* Pick a side in the upcoming Franco-Spanish war...
* Reclaim the Roman Empire and defeat the vile Carthaginians...
* Write a decent pasta-recipe
* Find a way to the New World
