Is it possible to mod what increases and decreases BB? While the system is fine overall, there are two aspects of it I think would better be done away with.

-BB gains for conquering land during a crusade. If anything, doing so should improve a lord's standing, due to the way he is living up to the expectations on him. At least BB gained that way should not be more than BB lost for assigning the land to vassals, making crusading without net BB gain actually possible.

-The rebel-revassalize spiral of doom. Forcing a rebellious vassal back into line shouldn't further worsen a lord's standing. Annexing his land arguably should, but there is no rational reason for why simply restoring the status quo that existed before the rebellion (i.e. forced re-vassalization) should make the lord more infamous than he was before the rebellion.

Can BB gains and losses be modded directly, or would it require an indirect approach via events?

BB can't be modded directly, only through events.

But force-vassalizing doesn't give you BB at all in DV, in fact vassals rebelling is a good way to reduce your BB, since you can now force-vassalize them (no BB) and give up your claims on their titles (each given up claim gives you -1 BB). And since you get those claims for free, each time a vassal rebels, the spiral of doom no longer exists in DV.

Really? That's good to hear. I've noticed myself that my BB has increased from force-vassalizing people, but they weren't rebelling vassals, but rather foreign nobles I was at war with. Does force-vassalizing give BB only if done against someone you have no claim against?

Force-vassalizing doesn't give you BB (doesn't matter if it is a former vassal or some outsider), are you perhaps also forcing them to give up their claims ? That gives your BB.
