Can have 2 different versions of Darkest Hour ?

Hi,i am making a series on KaiserReich 1.8 version (with DH 1.0.4)
But i would test some mods (Thunder in the sky....) who needs DH 1.0.5.
So,can i make an copy of DH with an different version wihout any corruption risks ?

Yes, I'm doing it now and playing the game with 2 distinct versions of DH: 1.04 and 1.05.1 and both run flawlessly. Just make a copy of 1.04 and overwrite it with the 1.05.1

But I didn't purchase the game or play the game through Steam. So not knowing anything about Steam, I don't know they will let you do that?
