Can modular buildings be created via mods?

Hi,

Given that there is no support for modular buildings as far as I know, is there any way to support them via a Mod?

Are the modding APIs up to the task and has it been attempted before?

I had a look at http://www.skylineswiki.com/Modding_API but I do not see any interface to create custom buildings and options like IBuilding.

Technically it would be possible. But to be honest, it's just too much work to implement that (if you mean it in a way like in the latest SimCity).

In my opinion it's a feature that's nice to see, but I don't really need it.

What Alex24 says. The game ships with the required data structures, but the whole UI would have to be implemented by a mod developer.
