I updated to Windows 11 and now I can no longer play Stellaris.

The Paradox Launch displays an error message "A launcher update has failed. The action failed because we could not fetch metadata about this resource. This means our servers are having hiccups or your Internet connection is not stable enough.

I have tried everything:
  1. Reinstall the game and launcher
  2. Running as admin
  3. Allowing through my firewall
  4. Completely turned off my firewall and anti-virus.
I'm going crazy, I just want to play the game.

Can't attach my logs cause your system is flagging my message as spam if I do.

Running as admin
Undo this, as that causes separate problems of its own.

You've attached launcher logs only, but since you get this problem running stellaris.exe (which bypasses the launcher) it cannot be a launcher issue.

What exactly happens when you run stellaris.exe ? You won't be getting the launcher error you mentioned, of course.

DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/settings.txt and pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log , exceptions.log

I turned off "run as admin"

I'm having issues with the installer and stellaris.exe, but just focusing on stellaris.exe, it crashes as soon as I run it (screenshot attached).

DXDIAG attached -- also FYI, this is a completely clean install of Windows 11 with all drivers and updates installed. No issue running other games (even Prison Architect)

I'm not seeing any folders under Documents/ attached is a screenshot of all my "Paradox Interactive" folders on my computer

This is the probable cause of your launcher problem
2022-05-23 19:24:43 [repository] [WARNING] Error in response: Get : signing TTL received is too close to current time (threshold of 60 sec)
This error means your computer is not on good internet time, which confuses our servers. Go into the Date&Time control panel and make sure Set Time Automatically is ON. Then hit the Sync Now button. Then run the game again, the launcher will probably update itself now.

But I see no good clue why stellaris.exe is failing. Please Install ALL these Microsoft modules:

And run the x86 and x64 installers there.

And run the x86 and x64 installers there.

(run dxsetup.exe after extracting this download to its own folder anywhere on your computer)

THEN go here:
And run the x86 and x64 installers there.

Then run this Windows repair tool:

Good lluck!

I mostly fixed the issue with the launching by setting my computer time to automatic (still some issues but I can work around them).

I had all the modules installed, I double-checked all of them. I updated DirectX. I ran the repair tool, no issues.

I still could not run Stellaris without it immediately crashing. I uninstalled my Steam version and installed it through the Paradox Launcher. Still the same issue.
