Can someone help me with Intersection Marking Tool?

I am trying to do a US themes build, so I have subscribed to the US Road project (USRP) road assets on the workshop. After starting the city, I realized that none of these roads have any sort of props or anything on them by default. So, I decided to try to use Intersection Marking Tool to add some street lights and create a simple preset that I can use going forward. However, I can't get the lights to have a consistent step/separation when pasting the template onto an adjacent section of road. Please see here for what I am talking about:

I feel like I am missing something obvious here. How can I create simple decorative templates that I can apply to roads around my future city? Thanks in advance.

I don't know the roads mod, so it maybe won't be possible... but you can add the props in the asset editor. You can find how in this post:
