Hello everyone,

I haven't played CK3 in a while and thought that starting as an Adventurer would be a nice new thing to try.

But I don't really get the hang of it. I have like 3 followers (i.e. only 1 more than the 2 you start with anyway), barely make any money, rations are always low too and so on. Like literally losing so many rations from having to walk around for a mission that I have to spent a good portion of the payout on rations.

Are there any general tips and tricks for the adventurer life?

Some info: Started in Cornwall as a Norse Catholic and have a sword for hire camp.

Also I had to move FOR the missions so far - i.e. it was part of the mission to walk around all over britain.
You can't pick the option where 'we all move as one' or 'my whole camp will move with me', ever. If you do, then it will cost rations.

If you have no missions, well then its time to move. Or you can try looking for missions by visitting town. A third, less useful option, is to burn a favor with a former client by asking them for a mission.

I'll say that man at arms is a bit harder to get started. To get the hang of things you may want to try out a scholar, criminal or explorer playthrough. Scholars get lots of stewardship contracts, criminals just need to have nice intrigue to get rich, and explorers have a high chance of getting easy transportation contracts. But again never move your camp as part of the mission. At no stage of the mission. Not even before hand.

Visit the local settlement and you can ask for new contracts. Rarely move camp, instead just travel back and forth. When you do a quest successfully, ask your new patron to borrow a knight, and you can use them for more quests for 5 or 10 years

Have to add, I do move with my camp for transportation contracts if they move me in the general direction I want to go, but generally, I dont bring my camp.
As for getting started, it can be finnicky at first, but if you've managed to get a few maa you can just ask rulers at war if they'd like you to join them. Just make sure to pick the winning side
