I can not get my planets to build anything. I can manually build it. I am on console. The planet Automation does nothing. I have fast forwarded the game 100 years and nothing happened except some pop manipulation. I have planet deficit so the planets SHOULD be building something but they won't. My settings are "enable planet automation". I have even turned off the toggle for building onto a deficit, still nothing. I have tried changing them from designation as well. They are all manually set. All are sectored. If I turn on Auto Designate type they will be rural worlds. I have had up to 10 planets so far. What am I doing wrong? Overall all of my resources are overstocked and I keep having to sell them. So I am doing something wrong. In most videos I have seen "Planet Automation" or something to that effect show in the build queue. But with mine turned on It does not?

Just trying to get more information… what race are you? And a quick question. Stellaris benefits from specializing each planet in most cases. Farm world. Mining world. Etc. You are turning on automatic building per individual planet and designating them as a “food world” rather than balanced? That is best. Also, to build things planets need resources and population. Sometimes things need an unemployed pop to build anything. There is a sector auto build too, which can be confusing because you have to designate resources to send them before they will do anything. It can be confusing.

Okm, I began a new game, This is how I have it set up, and While "Planet Automation" does not show up in the build queue. I did find a "tab" called "cosmology". It has a tab called "Planets and sectors". I had to, apparently, Add what money (resources) I had to a "Shared Stockpile". Only then did the Capital start building. And I have yet to colonize a new planet yet (new game). I am not sure If my planets are being automated by the sector ( I manually will make them the appropriate types after the colonization). But is that all I need to do? Is always go to that "Planets and Sectors tab" and continuously add money to it? I just found the planets and sectors tab in "Cosmology" And that is the only place it is located but supposedly this is how it works? Thanks for any advice.
Muds.

Ahha. I think the planet automation building is just a building. The automation thing you want to check is an option in the menu of a planet, not a buidable building. The sector with allocated resources works, but planet to planet is better. Choosing to make it a farming world. Rather than the sector thing.

Not quite. I am on Xbox FYI. These are the settings I currently can see and manipulate. If I click on a planet or in it on the outliner, There are a few tabs at the top. These are Planet Summary, Pops, Etc. On the Planet Summary tab there is the option to click "x" to enable Planet automation; Though this never shows in the build queue like I have seen in many youtube videos trying to figure out why it was not building or automating anything.

It never mattered if I had enough pops, it did not matter If I sectored the world, gave it a leader, turned OFF auto designation and manually set the planets correctly based on the slots they had (mining planet, industrial planet, urban, etc). BUT, we are not done yet. An alert appeared that I dismissed apparently. The planet did not have resources to build the planet. The next step was to figure out how to give the planet resources. On the left side of the screen there is another column of tabs. One of them is "Cosmology" This opens a "planets and sectors" tab. In this tab you actually have to put resources into a "pool" I guess? Sometimes it would run out but eventually it never ran out. And the planets THEN started automating.

I don't know why it took me that long to figure that out. I've micromanaged it for so long.

I play on Xbox too. I can’t stand to play this game I love on pc for whatever reason. It’s a shame they have to outsource the console updates…but. I’m sorry we had to talk through this rather than me just booting up the game and investigating. Hope I helped at all
