I don't get it. I read the rules but still makes no sence. When I played my game, I added merchents to them until it said I need a certian level to get a monopoly.

I am playing Fantasia game. When I click on the economic tab, everything goes red and have the big shield in my first province I had.

I thought you can have many CoT, but I only have one. Is this the case? So all I do is add merchents to my only CoT and that's it? I find it no fun, that is so boring, add as soon as the game starts, wait till it is implemented, and add again. Where is the fun? What am I really building? I just don't get it. Can someone explain to me what I am not seeing or missing.

Can you give me any tips for it that I should be aware of?

Thanks for taking your time to read this.

It will make more sense if you play another scenario. The idea is that you compete with other countries by sending merchants to the CoTs. In the Fantasia scenario, IIRC only you know about the CoT in your country and there will be no competition until the other nations find you.

Thanks guys for the replies. What scenario should I try then? What do you guys suggest for someone who is still learning but wants to have fun as well.

Play the 1492 scenario, as France or England for instance. It gives you an economical edge on most AIs and the military safety you need. It also allows you to explore most of the game mechanics, such as technology, diplomacy, trade, exploration and colonisation. Oh, and warfare ;)

Sorry to sound stupid here, but I don't see a 1492. Is that the name of the scenario? I will double check and see if the only scenario there is just a 1492.

Thanks for your help guys, it is greatly appreciated.

The 1492 scenario is called "Age of Exploration" if memory serves.
