I dislike them because I don't like trying to put my family on the seats of a bunch of different themes and seats to try to get enough influence to have everybody vote for me to become Emperor. To make sure I have all the right traits and all the right stuff and I better make sure that I'm the appointed heir of this province and that province and fudge the borders of your province through this scheme or that scheme and blah blah blah..

Administrative realms have primogeniture available as a succession law if you don't want to deal with acclamation. Feel free to spend all your influence to call on your governors' troops.
