Hi i was wondering if you guys had seen the new version of Ancient Religion reborn mod it would be great to see the new version added id love to see the newer religion variety in Ck2+.

It's pretty unlikely, unless there's something particularly compelling which has been added.

Just the Generic Holy Order Events and Trait for the Red Dragon Knights without the rest of the new stuff would be nice, it's not like the Celts need more flavor but the other two celtic holy orders have them so they seem a bit incomplete in comparison.

id love to see the Hellenic and Kemetic heresies also have you thought about adding Arianism or Insularism thats the Celtic+Christian religion

I am not sure if Hellenic and Kemetic even had heresies since most of the ancient Religions were very accepting and could easily adopt etc. they were not rigid like Christianity or Islam ..They could easily adopt and make it work and thus could avoid having a Hersey. for instance As Egypt you took over a new territory that was say..Hittite. Well now you might think you have a problem with them accepting your gods, Not really the case..you would adopt one of their gods or goddess and add it to your own and they would accept it.

unless i am wrong.. i never heard of a Hellentic or Kemetic Hersey

well they do you should check out the ones they have in Ancient Religions Reborn theres many i personaly like the Hellenic Heresie Cult of Titan worship of the great Titans

I think the Hellenic heresies are already in the game. At least I had my Hellenic governor of Baghdad start worshiping the Titans...

Most pagan religions didn't have heresies per se, they had Cults that gave the gods and goddesses different priority in worship, like the Cult of Zeus would have been entirely dedicated to the worship of Zeus, the Cult of Athena would have been centered around the Goddess of Wisdom and War (unlike Ares, she represented the tactical/strategic side of war I believe), and so on.

It's important to note that while the above is generally true, very few, if any, of the Titans were actually worshiped by the Greeks. The only one that even had a temple dedicated to him was Cronos, the leader of the Titans, in the Acropolis in Athens and another dedicated to him as Saturn in Rome. The only other notable Titans who gained any respect from the Hellenic Greeks for certain was Atlas, who held up the Heavens in the far west of the known world at the time, and possibly Prometheus, who they believed was the god that most recently created Mankind.

The Cult of Titans would therefore be a pagan religion worshiping a different set of gods and goddesses than the Hellenic Greeks in such a way that there's two different possible comparisons. If you just look at the fact that the Titans appear in Hellenic myths but were from before the Olympian gods and goddesses, you can get a comparison similar to the difference between each of the Abrahamic faiths (each references the faith or faiths that arose before it). If you focus on the fact that it's similar to the Hellenic faith but refuses to worship any of the Olympic gods, it's a heresy with a difference similar to that of Catholicism and the Cathar heresy for instance.

I'm afraid you're wrong here, quite a lot of Titans were worshiped. Helios, Hekate, Leto, Rhea, Pallas etc. Any god older than the Olympians and not descended from Chronus, aside from primordial deities like Kronos or Nyx, could be and often were called Titans. Infact, Prometheus was explicitely honoured in Athens with a yearly festival, and Hekate was the patron goddess of Byzantion. The implication of the Titan cult is that it worships the Twelve Titans that the Olympians overthrew, which, as noted does give some overlap with traditional Hellenic religion, but opposes it in that it explicitly denies that the Olympians are worthy of reverence. As for the nature of cult in polytheistic religions, however, you are quite correct.

I've been wrong before. At least I got the part about Cults and the fact that the Cult of Titans chooses to worship different gods and goddesses from the same myths right, so I can't complain about getting the rest wrong...
