I am a newbie and this is my first post.
I am playing England and it is about 1580, Queen Elizabeth I is nice to have. Anyway, I have already colonized most of the east side of North America from colony to city and located Iroquios. As I move inland I reach provinces that dont allow colonization or only allow a trader. Most of these provinces are in the south. Yes, they are unoccupied and I have plenty of cash. I am still creating new colonies in the north. What causes this.
And let me add a complaint, and complaints are few on this great game. The Dutch nationalism is stupid. I annexed the Neterlands 15 years ago, not knowing of its unique nationalism. Anyway I have lost more solders to holland than spain during war. Holland revolts 3-4 times a year with an army of 80,000 and my army knocks it to 60,000 by the end of the battle. I keep a standing army of over 100k and i still lose control often. My Point: Holland losing 60,000 men per year (3 revolts 20,000 per revolt), not counting what I take out for my army (10,000 a year) for 15 years gives a loss of 900,000 men in the last 15 years. not bad for a province that has a population of 35,000 in its largest city. Shouldn't they slow down sometime? There are not that many dutch men of fighting age in the world at this time, and every dutch province is doing the same damn thing.
