Cannot declare war

I'm playing Armageddon with the newest patch (1.3a?). Playing as the Soviet Union, I've made it to May 1948 without fighting Germany yet, having concentarated on china instead. Now when I want to declare war on Germany it says I can't do it until 1941. 7 years ago? What I can do is declare war on one of the other Axis nations which will cause war with all of them.
Even though it says I'm at war with germany I can't enter their provinces. My divisions just keep marching well past their ETA date but they never arrive or fight any battles.
Ive tried cancelling the attacks and the attacking again and also attacking the provinces behind he frontlines. I've even tried reinstalling.

Is the game lost or have I missed something?

The 1.3a patch is for Doomsday not Armageddon. The most recent Arma patch is 1.2. I wouldn't think you could even get that far with the wrong patch though. Otherwise I don't know.

ok, you said that you'r at war with germany but can't attack them?

you could go into your savegame and change that your not at war anymore.
then you should be able to declare war again.

Editing the save might work, I'll have to try. I found somone on another board with a similar problem and someone pointed out that staging a successful coup of a major nation might cause this. This could be what happened to me as I managed to coup Italy, Japan and USA.
