Hi! My friend cannot log into valkyrienet so we tried to connect directly to IP. At first I couldn't connect, but after many tries I could. However, in my game I couldn't start research, build or get the clock to start moving. For my friend there is no problem. This happens no matter if he or I host the game. Anyone knows what is wrong?

We are playing a modified Doomsday 1.2 and we have the same checksums (IABB).

I know the correct checksum, but we want to play with less naval attack on the overpowered NAV, CAS etc.

I cannot do anything so it's not just the clock. We are in the same country (Sweden) and we both have very fast internet connections and fast computers, why should there be a lot of lag?

thx anyway.

Is there anyone who have had a similar problem? Is there a bug? We played LAN before and it was no problem with non-vanilla checksum so I don't think that is why the game is wierd.

EDIT: Tried playing on below avarage which is the lowest in MP, but there is no difference. The clock is moving for him, but not for me. He can produce things, when I press start nothing happens, nothing is put to the build screen...

the slowest speed in mp is very slow. You probably have a firewall or router thats causing the lag - thats just the way it is. I know about 3 people that have very good cons and computers, but cant play the game over vnet. Install hamachi - www.hamachi.cc to try and get around the issue.

I had a similar problem, not being able to do anything is an indication of lag, and the fact that your orders don't even take effect after a while means you're suffering from huge lag. However, starting the game with slow or very slow for a while until things settle down should help. We rarely raise the speed beyond above normal because it causes lag as well.

But like fiendix said you probably have a router issue.

spread chicken bones in a circle. add old gas soaked rags into the middle of the circle and ignite, dance 5 clockwise circles and 3 counterclockwise circles around it. chant "ugha ugha, BATAH!" 7 times. this should resolve your lag issue.

hmm, I never tried that before, sounds like it might work :p
