Cannot get DD to run

Apologies if this has been covered already.

I just downloaded DD from GamersGate, and then patched it with 1.3a.

On starting it I get the movie, the front page graphic as it loads and then the drop down box asking me what sort of game I would like to play.

At this point, if I choose Single Player, I get the following message:

Error: (scenarioinfo: unexpected field) 'UES = {'line.file=scenarios\ o.Global_war.eug ---

Any idea what this means? Afraid that I have not got a clue.

Global war (scenario) and UES (country) are both from Armageddon. Are you sure that your game\patch combination is correct?

Sounds like you have installed the Doomsday 1.3a patch over Armageddon.
EDIT:
Could also be the DD 1.3a patch over an Arma patch over Doomsday. (The Armageddon patch includes the Global War scenario file.)

ok, well I have taken it right back to DD Vanilla and that runs fine. I have uninstalled all patches and will try again from scratch.
