Cannot get game to load

Okay so it's been quite awhile since I played CK and I had removed it from my system. So I download all the latest patches and install the game and the patches. When I startup the client it makes it to "initiating sound" then it encounters a problem and must close.

I tried reinstalling it several times, with and without the patches and every time I encounter this same problem.

Any idea what could be wrong??

I got it to work finally. Ended up being a problem with my Media Player. Once I got that resolved, CK worked just fine

Sure. The problem I was having with Windows Media Player was everytime I would try and play a music file, I would encounter an error. Something to the effect of "%1 not a correct Win32 application" I remedied this by finding a file on my system, quartz.dll, and renaming it to quartz.old. When this fixed the Media Player, and also corrected whatever problem CK was having.
