Cannot install the Game! Need Help!

I currently own HoI Anthology and when I insert the game CD I have the choice of installing HoI, HoI2, Doomsday, and Armageddon. However, I receive this message regardless of which I select to install.

Microsoft tells me I have the following error.
AppName: autoplay.exe AppVer: 1.0.0.1 ModName: autoplay.exe
ModVer: 1.0.0.1 Offset: 0000563c

Anthology Menu has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Are you using Vista? If you are, then the Anthology`s installer won`t work.

Open "My computer", right-click your DVD-drive icon. From the menu choose "Open". Then you can see folders armageddon, doomsday etc. Choose the game that you want to install. There is a Setup.exe inside that folder. Click it and the game should install.

I am using XP Professional 64-bit. The advice you gave me let me install the games fine, thanks. Now I have a problem that when I get in the game the screen stays black. Music plays and everthing, just dont have a picture.

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

Go to the folder where you installed the game

probably My Computer\C:\Program Files\Paradox Interactive\HOI ...

and change the name of the avi folder to avi.old.

Thank you for your help. I finally installed the game and have it working. The screen stayed blank because HoI Anthology does not support SLI. As long as I use only one card it works fine.
