Cannot start game due to d3dx9_41.dll

Hi

Hope this is the right place for this. I've been playing VicII for nearly a year now, and love it. I have recently bought a new laptop and installed VicII onto it today (from a CD) only to have the following msg appear: "The program cannot start because d3dx9_41.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem"

I've reinstalled it 4 times now and still get the same msg each time I press the Start Victoria 2 button in the initial start up pannel. What is d3dx9_41.dll? Incidentally, I'm having the same problem/msg with HOI3.

Please can somebody help?

You need to install directx 9. I see you have V2 registered, so you can read this link. Just install dx9 as explained in the link. Will also help with HoI3: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum...-solutions&p=11980285&viewfull=1#post11980285
