When i use the disc for DD and get the start up screen with install, uninstall, play, and exit, I'm having a major problem. I uninstalled the game a while back and so there is no HOI2 file on my computer, yet my only options are uninstall and play, and both options do nothing. My computer is so confused.. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

I'm having exactly the same problem as the first poster but on Windows XP. My Doomsday had started to show an error message on loading, after the opening video, so I decided to uninstall and reinstall it.

I've followed all the instructions on the Sticky and have had no success. The Install option is greyed out and only the Uninstall option is available. When Uninstall is clicked an Install Demoshield splash comes up for a split second then nothing.

[Before I followed the Sticky instructions and tried to uninstall I got the options to Repair and another option, I can't remember exactly what. Neither option did anything.]

So Doomsday's stuck in limbo on my computer, neither installed nor uninstalled.

I'll bet your game's registry key hasn't been deleted yet. There are some version of P'dox games that put the registry key in different folders, you might try poking around and see if you can find it somewhere else.

This is a thread from the Victoria forum where this was discovered-

I have no idea about Vista, can you even edit your own registry?

Another solution might be to run CCleaner, it will analyze your registry and find entries that do not correspond to existing programs, that should find the missing one.

What ever the case, if you find a solution make sure to come back and post it, it may help someone else in the future.

Success this time. I decided to try the Sticky process again, this time deleting all HoI2 parts (the vanilla game and Armageddon as well as Doomsday). I also noticed the Doomsday registry key had reappeared (after I'd definitely deleted it the first time).

After removing everything I was able to reinstall, although Doomsday was crashing with error message after the video until I'd also reinstalled the vanilla HoI2 (I thought they were standalone).

Tip for finding HoI files in the InstallShield Installation Information folder: search within files for 'HoI2', not 'hearts' as it says in the Sticky. 'Doomsday' and 'Armageddon' are searchable by their names.

Good luck with the Vista!
