Hey guys, I searched the forums and saw that someone had asked this question but I don't think they received an answer. If I am wrong and it was answered, then I am sorry!

I started up a game as a custom designed Bogomilist ruler of Byzantium in the Charlemagne bookmark. Managed to convince a lot of my vassals, bishops, and family to convert, took Constantinople away from the heretical "Ecumenical Patriarch" (*spits*) and had my court chaplain (whom I had converted) get down to the task of bringing the people to the light. All's good for the next two decades or so until he dies, and I notice I can't appoint a successor. I have plenty of Bogomilist bishops, but I still have no available candidates.

I console commanded myself back to being Orthodox (I had triggered the Schism with the event) and console-converted a few male bishops and voila - I get a new court chaplain.

Anyone have any ideas on what might be wrong? I'd appreciate any help you guys can offer!

Well. I know in Orthodox you can only appoint landed priests as court bishops. I'm not sure about Bogomilist but as its an orthodox off-shoot in game I imagine it would use similar mechanics. I'm also not sure if I am answering your question correctly.

My Bogomilist landed vassal bishops still don't qualify to become court chaplains, but the Bogomilist religion in this mod allows feudal rulers to have temples without penalty because that religion's followers actually get their own special government. Perhaps that is causing issues?

Bogomilist Perfecti can't become lord spirituals until you organize the Bogomilist faith sufficiently.

Indeed, you shouldn't have any "Bogomilist bishops" at all. There can't be actual bishops until the faith is organized. I suppose they might have that title if all they hold is the temple holding, but they certainly shouldn't be theocracies.

If you haven't reached the point where you can appoint Perfecti, all you really need is a non-ruler who has an ecclisastical education and no Perfecti trait.
