Can't autosave on v1.03

Have tried a couple of games as Portugal & Castille, and have discovered that despite having autosave yearly as an option, it won't autosave at all. I also suspect that other pre game options may not be working as they should (eg, despite selecting Very Difficult, when I save, & check the savegame, I get Normal on the details - though I'm not 100% sure on this).

I started a game as Austria last night (clean install with the 1.03 patch) and I have no problem with the yearly autosave every January. I know it happens because the autosave file is there and every January 1st the game slows to a crawl and the disk drive light comes on.

I sometimes had this problem in 1.02 Never found any rhyme or reason to its occurence though.

I know what you mean guys... The first year after you start or load a game it won't autosave... But the years after that it will... Just try it out... You'll see it works

Yes, I know about that, but still it never seems to save the year after or any other year.

Okay, looks like the problem has been solved - you need to reboot your computer, and then it should work out fine.
