i have recently switched from windows vista 32 to windows 7 64, a full reinstall, and now am having a lot of trouble getting this game going
when i used to play im not sure what version of the game i used, BUT i could send fosterlings and children were born with 0 stats and developed
now when i install off my cd i load into version 1.04a
I patched to 1.05 and it gives me a Deus Vult loading screen and version 1.05 in the first screen after boot, but this must not be the version I had as there are no fosterlings and counts hold land they take instead of giving it to me, so I dont want to play to this old version
so I have attempted MANY times to to go to 2.1, at least a dozen
I load to the 1st screen w/o any problems and get the version

when i hit SP the boxes are always wrong, never match up for selecting a country, just random floating boxes with no relation to the background
what happens is on the second load screen once I have pick a country to play the game hangs with maybe 1/2 to 1/10 left to load on the green bar and gives the error
--- palette `gfx\palatte\eyr_btn_back.bmp not found
if i hit abort the game closes, retry runs over and over and ignore locks-up
I have renamed the AVI folder
I have done a new install patch to 1.05 and unpack 2.1 beta many times
I have done it in program files
I have done in it a games/ folder
I have done in on my secondary HDD
everytime I removed the win7 read only lock to change the files
i just want to be able to play with rivals, friends, and foster kids like i used to
can anyone help me? or am i stuck with an old version of the game?
