I was wondering whether anybody could help me getting this mod working in Linux? I have unzipped the file to the ~/Documents/Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings II/mod directory, and I have created a "A Game of Thrones" directory in ~/Documents/Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings II/. However, anytime I start the game, using the -mod=mod/A\ Game\ of\ Thrones.mod option from the command line, I only succeed in booting the vanilla game.

When I use the unofficial Linux launchers, they detect the mod and let me select it, but they still just boot the vanilla game. Can anybody help?

I used the Mod folder in the Game Folder (so SteamApps and so on..) even though it tells you not to put Mods there (which is a leftover of the Windows version) and removed the \ in the startup options. Then it worked.

I just wanted to update this thread as I now have the mod working correctly and with the correct checksum too. Installing the mod into the SteamApps directory as mentioned above gives the wrong checksum which was preventing multiplayer with Windows and Mac machines.

To give the correct checksum, the mod should not be installed into either the SteamApps directory or into ~/Documents/Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings II/. Instead the mod should be installed into ~/.paradoxinteractive/Crusader Kings II

In case it is useful to anybody else, the complete Linux install instructions for the mod to get the correct checksum and be able to play multiplayer are:
-Download the latest zipfile of the mod (at time of writing CK2GOT071.zip). I will assume this is located in your Downloads folder (~/Downloads)
-Open the terminal and run the following commands:
-cd .paradoxinteractive/Crusader Kings II
-mkdir "A Game of Thrones"
-mkdir mod
-cd mod
-unzip ~/Downloads/CK2GOT071.zip

When you launch the game through Steam, the mod should now appear in the "Mod" list in the launcher and it should start with the correct checksum. These instructions have been tested on ubuntu 14.04.
