It always says that it cant find game in specified IP adress. Can anyone help me out?

I have 56kbps modem connection.

I have tried both to host and be hosted, neither work. Tried modem to modem and cable (what ever that is called in english, not meaning cable modem).

BTW if I have IGC installed and other dont, does that effect anything? Can we still play or do I need another instalation?

Howdy,
If you are trying to connect to the proper IP then you should have no
problems, ive hosted with a 56K connect and have maintained games with
various lengths however my perception is that the multiplayer function itself is unstable, and is NOT a issue specific to the baud rate of the host or those whom join. I have arrived at this conclusion after playing a number of games with various patch configs etc.
To readdress your question, make sure you give your PROPER IP address to whomever is going to join, once they have it, have them wait 5 minutes to give you a chance to spin the game up, then wait for them to join, you should have no problems, do you know how to find your IP address I guess is the real question?

PS-go the the site below to find your IP if you dont know how to do it manually. http://www.babygrrl.com/ip.shtml this site will display your IP, also be advised some ISP providers do NOT give you a static IP, it may change each time you connect.

what then if u have a static IP addres?

Going the above link will show your IP adress wether static or dynamic.

There is no real difference in how it behaves, just that you won't have to tell people each time which IP you have currently if it's static (if they bother to write it down that is ,-).

You need to have the same version of the game otherwise it will crash.

Just another thought...... I installed a 2nd version of EU on my computer so I have one with just the 1.09 patch and the other with the ICG 2.1 + 1.09 patch. It makes it easier finding opponents that way :)

Do I need to install the other on differend drive/partition?

Since you cannot install more the one copy from the CD, you have to first install a clean version and then copy the entire EU folder and install whatever you need into them.
I myself have 5 versions currently =)
Clean CD only version
1.08
1.08 +IGC
1.09
1.09 +IGC

Remember that you have to start the various versions from the europa.exe in the respective folder.
