Hi!

My friends and I are big fans of playing multiplayer HOI2 Doomsday Armageddon v1.2.

We are having a nasty problem networking our vista laptops however (which have steadily increased in number)

I have the following:
2 Desktops with Windows XP.
1 Laptop with Windows Vista

My friends also have some laptops with Windows Vista.

We are trying to play multiplayer over a LAN through a D-link ethernet switch. The switch is connected to a router that connects to the internet, but we are NOT trying to play online, only over the LAN. I have tried disconnecting the router from the switch.

When the game is hosted from an XP computer, all the vista computers can see the game, but if you press join, then it thinks for a while but the button pops back up and it does not join.

When the game is hosted from a vista computer, the XP computers cannot see the game to join it. Its been a while, but I dont think the other vista computers can see it either (can double check if you need me to).

I am confindent that the problem is some setting that I am missing on the vista computers. One vista computer did USED to work, but then its owner messed around with is firewall and internet security settings and now it doesnt either.

We are disabling the windows firewall on all computers (after adding HOI to its allowed exceptions) when trying to play and restarting the computer with AVG or Norton antivirus removed from the startup via system configuration, but still no joy.

All computers can ping each other over the network.

This has killed our ambition for a nice big 7 player game that we were trying to organise as 5 of the computers are vista laptops with this bug!

PLEASE HELP!!!
