I always get a Component transfer error, component: main applicatiions, file group: app executables, error: access denied. Cleaned the registry and all that. Plus it only happens with the new patch 1.07 patches without a problem. Help please.

Thats exactly what it looks like and what it says. Im running win 2k nt pro and am loggin as administrator. The error pops up after the I first manually locate the directectory and then agree to the copy right agreement and then press ok to install into desired directory.

Are you talking about when you go to install patch1.08, you get that error message.
If that is the case, delete the patch file and download a new copy.

Yes, I can't install the patch. I've tried every single available download and the same thing happens. It must be some kind of problem between my computer and the installer. Because patch 1.07 patches fine. Is there maybe a link for just the files so I could manully paste them into the directory.
Remove the whole game. Then follow the instructions in post 4 of the self help thread.
Then do a fresh install from disk then just apply the 1.08 patch.
Also what publisher version do you have ?

I've already done what you suggested. I downloaded from the paradox site (mirror 1 and mirror 2 ), and all 3 links provided by the sticky in the general eu forum. I have tried everything ,but reinstalling windows which is most likely the culprit due to some corrupted file.
Please answer the other questions as well.
I don't think Paradox is even up for Patch DLing.
You sure it is not a 1.08BETA that you Downloaded.

DLed that one as well and, yes paradox downloads work just fine. I managed to upgrade to 1.08 by extracting the files on a friends computer and then pasting them into the folder. But is still can't figure out why the installer won't work for me now when it worked in the past. Thanks for the help.
I have the North American Strategy First version of the game. Had if for the last four years and had patch 1.08 installed earlier without any problems. Like I said before there seems to be some sort of conflict with my computer and the installer that spontaneously appeared out of no where. I finally got it running by the copy and paste method, but had to extract the files on a different computer. Patched it to the new betas and it has no problems not even a crash until the mid 1500's, probably due to agc-eep. Every thing works fine except my computer won't let the installer do its job. I have done everything that the self help section suggests twice, including defragging the hard drives, and deleting registry keys. Is it possible that I might have to do this for all possible users since its on a network?
Well the game is not licenced for a network so each user should have their own copy.
It's my copy on my computer, and my network because I used to have two computers in the house. Do you think what I said about cleaning the registries for each user (log in ) might have some validity?
Yes it could. I would wipe the registry for all loggins and delete all copies and folders from the network that relate to the game. Then go from scratch. I did not know you had multiple copies installed.
