I bought the game yestarday, and after downloading, I try to install it. With no success: a message from the installer says than "EU Rome is not installed", and so on immediatly with Vae Victis and patch 2.1

What could I do? I've tried for three times (deleting and downloading again from the start). It's the first time I have a such a problem with GG.

Thanks for an answer (and a solution, of course).

Sorry, are you saying you get the message "EU Rome not installed" when you try to install EU Rome? That sounds like you've got the wrong file somehow, and are trying to install VV or a patch without Rome being installed. Can you confirm exactly what goes wrong with the initial Rome install please?

"EU Rome is not installed". That's the message I get from the setup, in my initial install, just after downloading. The only content in the folder created by the installation application is a text file, "EN License".

I've tried deleting and downloading again, for several times. I've indicate other folder in my hard drive. I've actualised DirectX, and follow some others indications in the forum about Vista's problems... and nothing works. And I have had no problems with other Paradox/GG programs. I've reinstalled EUIII-IN in my computer this weekend (after this problems wiht Rome Gold), and it was correct.

I know I don't give so much information, but that's what I have.

It's exactly the same problem I read in the GG help forum, "EU Rome won't install", from JoeHova:
http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?t=412349

JoeHova: I have a message in to GG at the moment waiting for responce. I downloaded the game multiple times last night. At first I was able to atleast get to the point where the game would install but would not run. It gave me the no disc type of error. Then I uninstalled the game and deleted the folder. Now when I download the game (as of last night) I get the EN licence agreement but no game. Have they still got issues with the download on gamers gate?

Then it's clearly a Gamers Gate problem, so i suggest you too post there. I wouldn't have thought it possible yu could be sent the wrong file, but that seems to be what's happening.

OK, thanks

I`m glad to say that my problems have been solved by Gamersgate support. Very effective. Thanks to Paradox forum either (other issues, like the JIT one, was very easy to manage thanks to the forum).

Excellent. For the record, it seems the "fix" was that Gamers Gate gave him access to separate downloads of Rome and VV, and they worked fine. So there seems to be a problem in the combined Rome:Gold download not present in the separate games. I've posted that backstage, we'll see what comes of that.

Is there any solution to this problem?

I bought the Rome Gold game. It installed OK but when I tried playing it for the first time this is what happened....

These are the details from the application event log after I click on "Rome" to start the game and get a Window saying that "Unhandled exception has occurred in your application.... The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect"

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

There is, and it's in the very first sticky thread in this forum. Why you'd make a "me too" post in a thread a completely unrelated problem I don't understand.

As I said, the very first thread in this forum. Titled JIT-error starting VV.
