can't install patch

I have EU Rome installed on my computer. I can start up and play the game fine.

I have downloaded the 1.3 patch. Whenever I try to run the patch, I get the following message box from the installshield wizard...

Europa Universalis Rome is not installed on your computer. Please install the game before installing the update. The installation will now exit!


I would try to reinstall EUR but I can no longer download it or any of my other games from Gamersgate. I don't know why. How do I get the installshield wizard to recognize that the game is already installed?

Any help is appreciated.

The original Rome install must have failed to update the registry somehow. There's no fix for that other than installing it again.

So you'll have to resolve your problem with Gamers Gate first. Their help forum is at http://www.europa-universalis.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=332 if you don't get anywhere by yourself.
