Hello there. I encountered a bug while trying to liberate a country. I'm playing as UK and I've managed to take back Portugal, Spain and Finland from the Germans, and I've also taken Italy. I liberated Spain (which had previously been annexed) but decided to hang on to the others for now. There was a huge stack of German troops 'trapped' on a province so I decided to re-load the save game as the Germans and move them, but after I re-loaded the save game again as UK it seems I can no longer liberate any of the countries I could previously liberate. Portugal, Italy (socialist) and Finland were definitely in the list of countries I could liberate prior to re-loading the game as Germany, but now the liberate button is just greyed out.

Is this a known bug and if so is there anything I can do to fix it? It's 1955 in my game and it'd totally ruin my game if I couldn't fix that.

Thanks in advance.

Go to db\revolt.txt and see what is the expirydate for each country.

This fixed my problem, thanks a lot.

A related question: Why do puppets which didn't exist at the start of the game only build infantry? eg. England, Scotland, etc. There are some countries I want to liberate like the Italian Social Republic but I fear they'll just mass-produce infantry and as such won't be of much help to me.

They are using the default ai file (ai\minor_default.ai), which is programmed to build only infrantry.
