Just started playing with the game, and trying to learn the ropes in Fantasia (which is the best way to learn IMHO). Playing with the Iroquois, I decided to maximize trade and infrastructure at the expense of the other options. Basically, about 6 years in or so, I am researching level three of both infrastructure and trade. I haven't met any other nations yet, and I've left religion at the original pagan levels. I have about 5 cities (and except for my capital, the rest aren't over 1000), built with colonists, and about 10 other colonies. I have put in a couple of tax collectors, but I can't afford any factories....

Now to the problem....I have gone through my $2500 rather easily, to the point I've had to borrow an additional $400 from the bank. Checking my income, if I max out the bar, I get about $4 per month (net), which isn't enough to support my spending habits.

Any help would be greatly appreciated....

This isn't C&C. You don't have to stress build in the beginning just to stay alive.

Using up almost 3000+ in 6 years is way to much if you do not have much of a regular income.

Take your time and build up slowly ( you can spend that 2500 in the beginning, but don't take loans), the game lasts for 300 years.
