Can't play EU2

The game is installed. Apparently everything seems fine, but when i launch the game the screen turns black.

What to do?

I have been able to play Eu2 before, but now when I formated the computer and reinstalled Eu2 I get the same problems.

Windows say that the problems are located in temp files Eu2.exe.app and another file.

I can't find these files at the folder they tell me they are in, so I guess it is a Eu2 game created temp file which is removed afterwards?

Any tip on how to fix it?

Fixed my problems with following setting my color depth to 16BIT and renamed my AVI folder to AVI_back.

Try it

Okay let's try some standard things.
1) Make sure you have the latest patch for the game.
2) Rename the AVI folder to AVI_back
3) Set the color depth to 16BIT
4) Turn off everything in the background like E-mail/ICQ/Messenger, Virus protection and everything in the system tray beside the clock.
5) Run a Virus check and a Adware/Spybot checker
6) Update your Windows, update your Video card drivers and audio card drivers. Then repeat steps 1-4
