I have edited 1 savegame (gave Germany 171 money instead of 11, so it could ask Japan in to the axis, which i play but couldn't get in the axis). That didn't worked out the way i hoped (can save the game furtheron but then it won't load anymore).

But anyhow, that's not really my problem. After my little experiment with that one save game, i can't save any game anymore.

For example i started a game as Honduras, let it run for a while then saved it. Normally saving takes a few seconds, but now it only takes only a fraction of a second. When i look up my save game it's standing in the line as Honduras....but only has the German flag! When i load it, it says "scenario error" and gives my the option to retry, abort or continue (which obviously doesn't work).

This also happens with every other of my save games. I can load them, they run, but every new savegame is screwed up.

I play version 1.2 and the only thing i altered is the "Quickfix for the manpower bug in 1.2 patch" (0.4 instead of 0.8)

All my savegames are from the 1936 scenario. I have a bunch of savegames as Japan, which i play currently. And 1 savegame as Honduras which i play to do nothing and let the AI have a go at each other too see what happens.

What have i messed up and how can i fix it?

Wipe the game from your system and reinstall. I suspect you edited a scenario file by mistake, thinking it was the save game.

Same advice. ;)

Did you try it! ;)

But hey if you don't want help do not post here and waist my time.

Hey, didn't see you were the admin, hahaha. Even more stupid then i thought.

I don't waste your time, you are wasting mine with answers everybody can think of themselfs.

I post here and hope someone who knows what he's talking about gives me some advice. Not some some wiseguy, cracking jokes or were you seriously? if so, you probebly think also that you can work at the helpdesk at Microsoft, then you can tell every caller with a problem "just wipe windows of the system and reïnstal". Hehehe, really great advice, you have to be a pro to think of that!.

My advice for you: Stay out of the tech section, you have obviously no knowlegde about it.

How very interresting. And how it's gonna help me? Yet another thread spammer. Plz stay on topic.

@jpd: Yes, you're right according to the rules. But i would apreciate it if you had let the other clean thread open and closed instead this spammed one. Thx in advance.

Yeah, i tried it and now all my savegames are gone! How do i get them back?
(no, of course not did i try it)

Ok. Lets try to get this sorted. You say that saving now takes considerably less time, and that subsequently it's messed up. What size do the messed up save games have on your disk? A normal one should be in the ballpark of around 12-13 MB in size.

If it's a lot shorter, then the save routine has aborted prematurely, and thus your save game is incomplete, which would explain the critical errors in loading it. If it has, then it must have encountered something in the actual running game that was unexpected. Which suggests that something has changed to a value outside of the well defined ones.

If you don't know exactly what you altered, or cannot alter it back to the original state, or didn't make a backup of the the original files before you started modding that you can copy back, then the easiest way to fix it is to reinstall the game. Which was Castellon's original advice, IIRC ;)
