Can't save games in Windows 8

Game worked fine in Windows 7. Just installed it (ver 1.08) on a new PC with Windows 8. Any attempt to save or autosave gets a "autosave.eug" (or relevant file name) "can't be opened" message and the game closes. Thanks.

Tried re-installing game. Earlier versions work fine. Error only occurs with AOD ver 1.08

Have you tried installing it in a folder outside C:\Program Files\...? Usually the problem is tied with lacking admnistrator rights.

Many thanks! The withdrawal pains are ended. Still curious, though, why this didn't happen with earlier versions of AoD.

Just had this problem with 1.08 + Third Reich mod (Win 7, not Win 8). Glad to see this should fix the issue.
