Started having an issue right after saving a career about a week ago where now I cannot load any saved games whether career or campaign, old saved files or new. So I tried starting a new campaign or career and the save button is completely grayed out and cannot be used. If I try to load a saved game, the spinning wheel just sits there. Task Manager doesn't say the game is locked up but if I end up having no choice but to end it. I tried waiting thinking maybe it was just taking a very long time to load and after 15 minutes gave up.

I also tried verifying the installation files, system says everything is fine and finally I uninstalled the game and re-installed, same result.

What antivirus app do you use? Add BattleTech.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.

If that doesn't help, Please attach here the game log:
C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\LocalLow\Harebrained Schemes\BATTLETECH\output_log.txt

To see the AppData folder you'll need to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer.

DXDIAG is a program you run from a command prompt or the Windows start menu 'run' dialog box (or 'search programs' in Windows 7 or later). After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Thank for responding, the ransomware protection is turned off and doesn't let me add anything to it's list when turned off. I did try adding Battletech.exe as just a general exclusion to Windows Defender and did not seem to make a difference.

I've attached both requested files to the thread. I hope it's something stupid I'm doing and not an actual bug.

Thanks for looking.

I think your problem is here:
Counted 1211 save slots
Every save uses up memory and other system resources just by being there. Please delete every save you don't actually need any more.

Good luck with that!

It is certainly possible, but I think too many files is more likely. Do you really need hundreds of them? I generally recommend keeping below 100 ... !
